Just tell me…

“What’s you impression of me?” the question most of us youngsters crave to find the answer to. Well, I’m one them. I’m quite insecure when my image becomes a topic, when someone says something about my hair, belly or super slim jeans. Do I look funny? Am I too weird? Am I normal enough for you? Am I who you’re looking for? How do I look? Be honest, please!

Peaches, please. Where’s your self-esteem? Where’s Your sexuality? You’re the god or goddess of your own world. You are perfection by definition. What is this perfection anyway? What is normality?! This is you. This is who YOU are. Maybe you love the way your hair looks, maybe you stood 45 minutes to style it up. Made it for yourself, to feel good, to look good – your kind of good. You made it to be different. So be different! Don’t hide that belly and you better get noticed with those super slim pants! You’re super sexy the way you are. And if you want other people to see it, you first have to see it by yourself. Believe in the beauty of your body and mind. Feel the hotness inside. You are the superstar and you’re  just one step away from redeeming the main role in our show. Just have to find that power inside you, the fire that keeps your heart pumping. Grab it, conquer it and show them who you are. Be you and be proud of who you are!

Loosen up, babe. Loose control! Dance it off. Life is a melody, life’s a pleasure, a dream… A one time opportunity. Nothing should ever keep you down. No one should ever make you feel bad. Not even for a second. ‘Cause You need to shine, you need to experience, to live the NOW, freely and fearless. Conquer those dreams of yours, bring out the skeletons from the closet, show the monster inside and inspire those cowards around you!

My latest obsessions

I’m one of the people who gets easily sucked in by the smallest things and activities in the world. I tend to get overly obsessed almost weekly with new stuff, whether it’s a coffee shop, all kinds of products, albums, TV shows, movies, YouTubers and pretty much everything that makes my life a little bit more colorful. I find happiness  in just about anything I lay hands on. So, as a fun post and something for you to try, discover and expand your everyday experience, check out this year’s so far personal obsessions. And, if you like this post, I could return every month with  an update to the list. Also, feel free to share your obsessions!

I’ll start with Chatbox, the event I organize every month at a coffee shop, in my city. An event, open to everyone, similar to TED Talks where I, my team and a few amazing guests become speakers with a unite goal – to inspire, to motivate and to help the participants, through our personal experience, to reach for the sky, conquer their fears and fulfill their wishes, goals and dreams.

Then there’s the new HBO series called Looking, which is kind of a gay version of Sex and the City. Finally something organic, normal and casual on TV. Something you can watch even with your grandmother. Plus, one of the guys is a hipster. Win!

8tracks.com is my everyday music provider. Love the idea of playlists based on mood, activities and what-not. Yet, if i’d have to put out an album that I secretly listen at the gym, I would definitely say The Marshall Mathers LP2. And movies, I totally recommend The Lego Movie. Can’t wait to see it this week. I’m a huge fan of Lego and the concept of the movie, the mixture of universes in the plot, is phenomenal. Plus, come on! It’s one hundred percent Lego!

YouTubers. Since 2013’s best investment, my Nexus 7 tablet, all I do is watch my favorite YouTubers. The guys from UK and the ones from USA. Ideas, fashion, social skills, and ways of being; there’s a lot to learn from them. That’s for sure!

Worth mentioning: SuperFruit, Tyler Oakley, Connor Franta, Joe Sugg and Marcus Butler.

I’ll mention once again the Hunger Games trilogy. It’s a must read for those who’re into leadership, personal development, revolution and emotional intelligence.

These are my so far obsessions of 2014, besides the never ending fashion and shopping addiction.

That’s all for now. Wish you all an amazing week, the best so far, and see you next Tuesday. Comment down bellow and tell me: What’s your ultimate obsession? Mine’s Haribo, the pack of gummy bears.

The pick-me-up

Your smallest or weirdest idea can reshape the whole world. Never stop believing in YOU, never stop being YOURSELF and NEVER stop talking. You are here, NOW, living, doing, experiencing. Repay the gift of life by telling your story. Inspire those around you, whether it’s your family or friends, the community you’re part of, town, county, country or continent. Inspire the whole world. You are amazing, you are awesome. You are unique.

So you better SHOW IT and you better show it now! Life’s short yet beautiful, so don’t be just another one that comes and goes, don’t be part of a number, statistics, a generation… X, Y, Z. Be YOU, Be [Name] and [Surname], the one that changed the world. It’s not difficult. Nothing’s difficult in this world, especially when you have the right mindset, mood and friends around you. And I’m sure we all have what it takes to rule these grounds!

Between the lines

Since we all know how to read and pretty much everybody is recommending books, I decided to recommend you a book every now and then. Reading is good, it’s healthy; It’s a sweet escape to a different universe and you get to learn a few things – ways of thinking, emotional intelligence, get to read faster and talk richer, some times even flamboyantly. We all have that friend, right!?

Anywho, a few weeks ago I finished the whole trilogy of the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and I must say; the whole trip was absolutely delightful. Her style and the way every chapter ends kept my nights sleepless. I had to finish them as soon as time permitted. I couldn’t stop; it grew on me like an illness.

Reached the ending of the whole phenomenon in about two weeks. Mockingjay took about 3 nights to devour it. That one being my favorite. Can’t wait to see how they’ll turn it into motion. And I’m quite happy I read them too. Why? Because of its lessons of leadership, its engine of revolution. That lack of freedom, living in constant fear and suffering; all this without an escape. And then the purpose, a fire inside. A voice. Also, the correlation between building up a star, an imagine for the public to follow. A change; hope itself. You becoming the need of others, to create an engine, to make it work. I won’t spoil anything for those who lived under the rocks, I’m sure at least a part of the world have seen the movies. Still, I’ll remain discreet.

There’s also a love triangle, the teenage girl with her immature feelings making things harder here and there, giving quite the touch to the whole backbone. I expected more from the final pages yet I believe reaching to that somewhat happy ending was all the story itself needed, not necessary us, the readers. I’ll give a massive FOUR stars to Collin’s Panem. Thank’s to today’s marketing, it’s definitely a must read. Plus don’t you think that a hunger game like in the movie/book could happen in a future nearby? Who knows, instead of whole nations suffering massive damage I think we could all adhere to a survival game that decides our political fate. Imagine some of our corrupted European politicians fighting to survival. Now that I would see in 3D! Kidding. Or am I?

I highly recommend you to never stop reading. Find at least 20 minutes every day and read. It could be a chapter of a book, a post on a blog; anything really! But not the news about what’s happening in the world nor gossip about the Kardashians. Things that you may learn from, that may give you a different opinion on things around you.

That was all for this week. Hope you enjoyed it, please leave a comment bellow with the book you are currently reading or tell me what’s your favorite one. Wish all of you an amazing week and see you next Tuesday. Hugs!

25 Facts about me

Hello my dearest readers, here’s to a day filled with positive energy and well being. Because I love you so much, I’d like to share more personal stuff about me, so you could know me better. I want you to know that even though I do this and that, I’m still a clumsy person with its ups and downs. We’re all human beings! So, don’t be too harsh with yourself next time cause we’re all swimming in the same ocean.

I built you a list with 25 facts about me to see if you and me have things in common. Please, after reading, comment in the section bellow things that we have or don’t have in common. I’d be more than happy to know my readers a little bit better!

  1. When I was younger, my mum asked me the classic question: What would you like to be when you grow up? I told her I want to become a gardener and sell my vegetables to neighbors. Later on, when I was a tiny bit older, I told her I wanna become a stripper and get married with an old yet rich client of mine.
  2.  I’m a morning person. Usually I wake up minutes before the alarm and just sit there thinking about the things I’ll do during the day.
  3. I wore a dress when I was little. I even have a few “pin up girl” style pictures too to prove!
  4. I procrastinate so much!!! You have no idea how hard it is for me to follow a schedule…
  5. There’s a video of me dancing & lip singing with my cousin and her classmates on a old Black Eyed Peas song in front of an audience. Some say it’s cute, I say it’s career damaging.
  6. I think I have some sort of a OCD – I like my stuff in a certain place while doing things in a certain way.
  7. I want to travel the world – I’ve already been in Hungary, Bulgaria, Latvia, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and Portugal.

  11. Sadly, I’m quite a hairy person. I pretty much trim and wax almost every part of my body.
  12. I love my lone time. I need at least a couple of hours per week in order to function properly.
  13. I struggle to relax. If there’s nothing else to do but to sit, my mind goes crazy. I start thinking about the meaning of my life and what I did so far and so on… Amok, I tell you. Amok!
  14. It’s hard to take decisions by myself. I usually go around asking for opinions from my friends. There’s quite a process!

  17. Deadly uncoordinated! I haven’t got lost yet but if it’ll happen and it will, I won’t be able to explain from where I came or how I got there. Even if a friend of mine want’s to visit I can’t explain him the directions to my place without babbling nonsense .
  18. I’ve been in 3 serious relationships so far.

Through the Skin

Tattoo #1 | The peace sign (Dec. 19 2011)

This is for those who live in fear, for those who hide under defined stereotypes. I scarred my skin forever for those who use discrimination to cover their own lives and for those who judge at first sight. This tattoo represents Equality. It doesn’t matter what color your skin is, what sex orientation you have, nationality, religion, if you’re rich or poor, tall or short. We are all the same! And our lives are too short to fight for “normality” when the main objective  here is acceptance and peace.

Tattoo #2 | The four leaf clover + the feather (Aug. 21 2o12)

I call this one the “Attraversiamo” tattoo and it has two symbols, the feather and the four leaf clover which represents the backbone of our lives and the luck that hugs our days. The feather also represents freedom and traveling. To offer even more value, me and a good friend of mine share the same tattoo as a sigil of friendship.

Tattoo #3 | The anchor (Dec. 19 2013)

Made this one for my lack of roots and constant change in my life. Being a traveler by soul I needed an anchor to remind me that home is where my heart is, that no matter what, as long as there is hope, even without roots, somewhere on the other side of the planet I’ll still be able to find happiness, start again, move on and prosper. Sink or swim!

My first Time

I should wash your mind with soap right now! Sorry to disappoint you but it’s nothing sexual about this article. It’s all about those fluffy “firsts” in life. Like my first word; which was (calling mom… Voice mail?! I didn’t even know you had a voice mail!) “tata”; “dad” in Romanian. My first English word was “pie” thanks to Cartoon Network.

Let’s see: My first teddy bear was this little pink and green bear called “Puffy”. I couldn’t sleep without it and pretty much chewed on for quite a while. I even ate its nose! My first friend was a boy called Bogdan. We were inseparable till I moved on the other side of the city. All we did was playing Nintendo games, getting in trouble with neighbors; we took off every decorative sticker from all cars around our “territory” + fought with girls. We were bad ass!

My first memory… I remember a lot of stuff while I was a toddler yet there’s this one memory I’ll never forget, and it’s the oldest one I truly cherish. I went with my father to a toy store and he bought me cargo truck. I think it was my first decision in life too; he made me pick between two really cool trucks, one that transported an airplane and the other, which I instantly fell in love with, a cargo. That little bitch was the king of the roads for many years in the play grounds. Kids were so jealy!

My first pet was Max, a black and white cat who entertained us for quite a few years. I think my dad ran over it with his car, don’t remember exactly. All I know that my parents picked him up from the road and buried the little fur-ball in the garden near the biggest peach tree. Then we had more cats! (I’m a cat person by the way) Puffy, Pixie and my dearest of ’em all, Matyi (which died one week before I went to college abroad).

My first fear was, of course, the fear of darkness. I  always had this bottle of water near the bed just in case I wake up thirsty in the middle of the night. Now it’s all about the Midnight, baby!

Err… My first crush was in the first grade. She was the smarty-pants, had the highest grades, longest hair. She was an angel! Never really talked to her; And we were neighbors! Her apartment was a door away from my best friend’s flat. I think she knew more about me than I of her. Kids, huh?

At the age of twelve or so I had my first kiss, second and third. There were only 3 girls on the street. One I kissed when the bullies arranged a fake marriage of me and this very nice girl I fancied, where we they made us kiss at the end of the ceremony. I looked discussed even though, deep down I was screaming out of happiness.  Later on, two girls, friends of mine, visited me time to time. We played all sorts of scenarios. Usually ended up “married” with one of them and then with the other… They were constantly asking for mouth-to-mouth. And I was really serious with my role!

My first girlfriend appears in the second year of high school. A curvy girl with long black hair. You know how men usually seek girls that looks somewhat like their mothers? Well this one had kind of the same features. She was a sweetheart for about one year and a few months but then we broke up and today we don’t even say hello to each other. What a bitch, right?

My first gig/concert was in the north of Romania, at my grandparents hometown. I was about fourteen, drank beer for the first time and discovered quite a few local bands that no longer exist.

My first/favorite film, hmm, that’s a little bit difficult. It’s hard to pick the favorite one but I do remember Home Alone 2, Edward Scissor Hands and The Nightmare before Christmas.

My first purchased album was from a local boy band I loved  during my teen years. Later on I took a sip of the international and never returned to the Romanian sounds. Blame it on P!nk! 😉

My first phone was a Bosch Com 509. Now it stays as a zombie apocalypse secondary weapon. Comment bellow and tell me what’s your first mobile! I’m curious how many of you had Nokia bricks!

And final, my first job is the one I have even today, a marketing manager position at a rent a car company. It pays well, it gives enough time to work on my personal things and, honestly, I’m quite happy here.

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed it! And if you did, make sure to like it. It would really help me. Also, if you think I’m pretty, like my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter and Instagram. Wish you all a wonderful day and don’t forget to embrace your passion, smile every second and forget that life is wonderful and damn too short!
